Job Description

A great organisation who I have worked with for many years are ultra- busy and now need an additional person to assist their frantic payroll team.

This role would be great for a candidate with great numeracy skills and some previous payroll knowledge. However they will also consider and entry level person (once again highly numerate) who would consider undertaking a payroll apprenticeship this is permanent role.

This is a busy department and duties will involve;

You will provide day to day payroll administration support for specific projects and the payroll assistants.

You will enter the hours for workers on your designated projects and undertake audit checks for accuracy.

You will update the holiday bookings for workers.

You will act as the first point of contact for payroll queries and allocate queries from the payroll inbox.

You may also be required to support the finance team.

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for reviewing the quality of incoming timesheets paying attention to quality, dates and timesheet approvers.
  • Input all hours for workers onto the timesheet system.
  • Audit checking the hours for accuracy.
  • Processing the weekly holiday requests
  • Process court orders and statutory payments
  • Provide administration support to the payroll assistants
  • Manage the payroll inbox on a rota basis and allocate all incoming queries to relevant team members
  • Respond to worker queries promptly

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of working in a weekly payroll is preferable but not essential.  What you'll need to succeed You will have a strong attention to detail and good numeracy skills You will want to work and develop within the payroll function.
