Job Description

You will provide day-to-day administrative and/or dedicated PA support to the Head of Team. They will maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization. You will work with minimal supervision and be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a wide range of specific administrative duties. You will work with colleagues who are based across the country at different sites and/or who work remotely.
You will be supporting NIS global health colleagues and the IHR team to fulfil and facilitate IHR Programme objectives. This role will work across NIS, IHR team, Global Public Health (GPH) department and involve supporting other contributors to the IHR Programme from across PHE. Provide dedicated comprehensive PA support to a Senior Civil Servant including diary management and travel arrangements. Provide comprehensive operational and administrative support to team. Lead and act as a central coordinating point of contact for a range of corporate function processes. For example, submitting work records, facilitating overseas deployments, organize training, triaging emails, managing shared inbox, calendar and information sources, compiling and updating health and safety risk assessments on behalf of the team as required. Communicate and engage effectively with a range of people, including internal and external staff and stakeholders. Providing secretariat support to teams and other internal meetings and networks as required. Contribute to effective information management (including maintaining administrative and information resources, i.e. filing systems) and assist with the dissemination and/or collation of information/returns, in a timely manner. The Global Public Health Team supports the delivery of PHE’s Global Health Strategy by providing corporate support focusing on capacity building and health system strengthening in partner countries. Improving global health security and meeting responsibilities under the International Health Regulations – focusing on antimicrobial resistance, mass gatherings, extreme events, climate change, bioterrorism, emergency response, new and emerging infections, cross-border threats and migrant and travel health. Responding to outbreaks and incidents of international concern and supporting the public health response to humanitarian disasters. Building public health capacity, particularly in low and middle-income countries, through for example, a programme of staff secondments and global health initiatives. Developing our focus on and capacity for, engagement on international aspects of health and wellbeing and non-communicable diseases.
