Job Description

They are now looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to develop and implement an effective legal compliance program for the firm.

  • Your goal will be to ensure we operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting our business objectives
  • Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
  • Ensuring maintenance of all records and registers as required by the SRA
  • Communicating with the SRA as required
  • Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed
  • Responding to day to day queries from the firm’s fee earners
  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will be between 2-5 years’ PQE or have relevant experience in a compliance role Candidates with significantly more experience from other fields would be considered You must be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and technical expertise in risk management and our industry standard Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML) You will have a drive to succeed and provide excellent client service You will be a go getter and have a ‘can do’ attitude You will possess strong commercial awareness as well as strong integrity and professional ethics You should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions
