Purpose & Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s development of its financial strategy, providing sound financial advice to the local executive group and other senior management.
- Direct, lead and develop the EMEA finance function and its personnel
- Maintain consistent oversight of all EMEA corporate entities
- Develop and execute a financial strategy optimizing the Company’s current and projected financial position, in alignment with business strategy and considering the external economic environment.
- Review and approve bank payments as an account signatory
- Work with the US fund and corporate senior managers to achieve maximum productivity for the EMEA function, including management and distribution of work
- Ensures proper tools, policies and procedures are in place to facilitate achievement of financial strategy
- Maintain and champion internal controls and processes
- Oversee analysis of enterprise operations to identify cost savings opportunities.
- Propose initiatives that promote efficiency and/or effectiveness
- Responsible for the timely review and submission of finance related regulatory returns
- Oversee and manage the finance contribution on cross function projects
- High level oversight of EMEA risk and demonstrating a risk conscious approach with colleagues across all departments
- Expert contributor to capital management, both corporate and fund accounting.
Leadership & Management
- Management of the time and resources of the EMEA Finance function, this includes the day to day, performance reviews as well as constant development and optimisation of personnel
- Able to show leadership and steer the EMEA Finance team through a period of transformation and change.
- Plan, develop and monitor the EMEA Finance strategy including vision, goals and action plans, and ensures the strategy complies with the overall company's business strategy
- Act as a strategic advisor to the business with executive presence and confidence
- Represent finance at local executive committees, board meetings and global finance meetings
- Attend compliance and regulatory meetings/committees
- Ensure best practice and data integrity as well as acting as a final approver for EMEA Finance
- Promote cost discipline and be budget conscious
Experience required
- Qualified accountant from an internationally recognized body (Ideally ACA, ACCA)
- 10+ years of PQE experience or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience with entities in continental Europe
- Proven experience managing and leading a team through a time of transformation and growth
- Highly commercial with regards to optimising sales, minimizing costs and balancing risks
- Development and implementation of financial strategy within a PRA/FCA-regulated environment in a leadership controller/director position
- Excellent financial modelling and forecasting skills; comfortable working with databases and using technology to produce high quality management information
- Knowledge of finance from a broader EMEA perspective not isolated to the UK. Irish Entity and ManCO experience would be highly desirable.
