Legal Costs Administrator
Job Description
- Preparing costs schedules on personnel injury files, which include RTA, Employers Liability and Pubic Liability claims, including Portal, FRC and time costed files
- Ensure that all cases are dealt with in compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules
- Administering cost breakdowns and entering data
- Creating costing breakdowns / estimates for negotiation, allocation and pre-trial questionnaires
- Drafting N260 firms, also known as Statement of Costs Forms
- Preparing documentation, forms and papers
- Filing, scanning and archiving files
- Maintaining and entering data, managing via spreadsheets
- Assisting Costs Lawyer with day to day activities and tasks as required
- Preparing cost breakdowns for negotiation
- Preparing estimates in support of Allocation and Pre-Trial questionnaires
- Drafting N260 forms, also known as Statement of Costs Forms
- Assisting in cost budgeting process
- Liaising with external Cost Lawyers when necessary
- Working with external Cost Draftsmen and Litigation Fee-Earners
Negotiating with medical agencies and Counsel to lower amount of fees where appropriate
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience in costs drafting administration • Committed, hardworking and willing to learn • Experienced in operating in a pressurised and highly motivated team environment • Ability to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision • Flexible, organised and can communicate clearly with people at all levels • Excellent IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office programmes is essential
