Job Description
  • To assist in the preparation of timely and reliable management accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and highlight variances to the Management Accountant.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register, processing additions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Preparation and posting of assigned general ledger journals including accruals and prepayments.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT for review.
  • Assist with employee expenses claims.
  • Assist with physical stock checks as required.
  • Assist in the completion of year end audit files as required.
  • Aid in the completion of grant claims as required.
  • Assist in the completion of Intrastat and custom declarations as required.
  • Carry out ad hoc accounts duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Be a team player who enjoys working with others to solve problems and share knowledge.
  • Have excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Be proactive in their approach, quickly ascertaining how to perform effectively in the face of unfamiliar tasks.
  • Seek opportunities to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills on the job.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Be confident to engage with different levels of stakeholders, including directors and senior managers.
  • Part qualified accountant or studying towards Level 4 AAT
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with accounting system(s).
  • Experience in reconciliations, posting journals, good understanding of debits and credits.
  • Good degree of competency in Microsoft Excel and associated Microsoft packages.
