Job Description

You will work within the payroll department and will be responsible for general payroll accounting and internal control including payroll journal entry preparation, payroll account reconciliations, and payroll related month-end closing activities. This role will also involve liaising with external auditors and corporate stakeholders. This individual will work closely with the business unit Finance and Operational leaders to ensure accurate and timely reporting requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting activity including payroll journal entries, payroll account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Month-end closing responsibilities ensuring accurate financial results are reported on a timely basis as per corporate closing calendar.
  • Liaising with external auditors and Corporate stake-holders
  • Customer service: provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries.
  • Compliance with SOX, standardized procedures and internal controls.
  • From time to time, you will be required to undertake other responsibilities/activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Part Qualified Accountant or Qualified Accounting Technician. Experience in accounting and financial systems (Oracle experience preferred but not essential). Experience in payroll processes would be advantageous but not essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.Functional knowledge of general accounting processes. Understanding of internal control elements. Flexible to new ideas and ways of accomplishing tasks. Ability to use initiative. Strong problem solving and resolution abilities. Clear and effective written and oral communication skills. Highly organized. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellent customer service skills and attitude. Unquestionable ethics and integrity with high degree of transparency and trust.
