Job Description

The role will provide an opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious accountant to hone their skills in a supportive environment full of other finance professionals. You will have a full overview of the various districts, with direct exposure to asset and property managers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in a large, multi-sector property investment and development business.

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with preparing monthly reports (by location and sector)
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and maintaining financial controls
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and client deposit account reconciliations
  • Preparing statutory accounts for London Estate entities and liaising with auditors
  • Preparing dormant company financial statements for filing at Companies House
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis to facilitate informed decision making
  • Follow agreed processes and identify ways to improve processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency
  • Ad-hoc support for other areas of the accounting function, e.g. VAT returns.
  • Contribute to and participate in projects to improve processes and systems.

It will be necessary to:

  • Work closely with the management accountants, operational finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of finance operations to facilitate the timely resolution of issues.
  • Be willing to learn from the experience of management accountants within the team.
  • Utilize CaseWare, Yardi Voyager and other accounting software to produce high-quality reconciliations and accounts.
  • Have good analytical skills and a strong attention to detail to produce high quality reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, demonstrating innovation to achieve best results.

You will report to the Head of Financial Reporting to whom they will provide key deliverables throughout the reporting cycle. They will work closely with the Management Accountants during the monthly reporting cycle. They will also gain experience working with members of the Location teams on property activities, as well as the operational finance team including billing and purchase ledger teams. The role will work closely with the other members of the London Estate finance team, providing information and sharing knowledge.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Part-qualified accountant, or AAT qualified, study support will be available for the successful candidate. Thorough double-entry book-keeping knowledge is a pre-requisite. Experience working in a finance function, within the property industry would be advantageous. Intermediate Excel knowledge and previous experience using accounting software (with Yardi Voyager experience beneficial). Have a ‘can do’ and positive attitude. Strong communicator – role will involve working with a variety of stakeholders. Well-organized and diligent with exceptional attention to detail. Capable of working to and meeting deadlines. Flexibility and willingness to support other team members during peak times. Keen to learn and develop new skills within a high-performing team.
