Job Description
This is a hands-on role to support the local Financial Controller and other team members in the following areas:
Manage and Process the Accounts Payable (AP) invoices for a number of companies
Process Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices for a number of our clients
Process the VAT Returns
Support Month end closing including reconciling balance sheet accounts, accruals and prepayments
Input AP/AR and Journals on the SBO
Manage the payroll for a number of companies (payrolls are outsourced)
Prepare draft management accounts for final review by Finance Manager
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Assist with year-end statutory accounts.
Attend regular budget holder forecasting meetings
Work with Finance manager to Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes and implement changes
Assist with the documentation of all Finance processes
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of resolving accounting problems. Experience of working with SAP or Oracle. Good working knowledge of accounting systems. An understanding of major accounting principles. Highly developed numeracy skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to build and maintain productive and cooperative working relationships. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work to deadlines. Good general IT skills – experienced with Microsoft Office suite. It is essential that you are skilled to intermediate level in Excel, specifically. Experience of resolving complex accounting problems. Experience of preparing VAT returns. Used to working in fast moving environments providing accurate and timely information to a high standard. Experience of management accounts preparation. Good knowledge of database structure and use. Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with commitment to qualify within 3 years or Educated to degree level. There will be support available to become a fully qualified accountant. A Levels in Math and English, or equivalent.
