Job Description

The position of Construction Manager carries the responsibility for managing the construction phase of schemes designed within the contract. The Construction Team consists of three Construction Managers, subordinate Site Managers and is led by the IWP Service Delivery Manager. There is a particular need for close working relationships with the scheme designers and subcontractors as well as colleagues within the integrated team. The position requires an awareness of the challenges in carrying out works on a live public highway and you will therefore have responsibility for ensuring effective planning and management of health and safety, quality and environmental standards to ensure these are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are seeking a Construction Manager who has a HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, CSCS Card, NRSWA Supervisor, SMSTS, 12D Traffic Management and a Driving licence (clean). Experience in a management position in highway and/or civil engineering construction. Competence in challenging and approving various construction documents including Construction Phase Plans, drawings, PCI Handovers, BOQ's and Method Statements and Risk Assessments and an understanding of statutory obligations relating to working on the public highway especially regarding structures and their associated maintenance works.
