Job Description

• Ensure that proper accounting methods are followed, including auditing and tax planning
• Provide analytical, administrative, and financial information and advice to department managers and the Retail Operator, accurately and on time
• Work with the Retail Operator and other managers in planning, forecasting trends, reviewing operational data, and revising plans on an ongoing basis
• Maintain official documentation and company records according to mandatory legal requirements
• Assist the Retail Operator in developing business strategies and assess the impact financial and operational decisions will have on the business strategy.
• Balance accounts according to retail facility procedures.
• Account for payments to the retail facility according to established policies and procedures.
• Advise the Retail Operator of any discrepancies or other problems encountered or highlight any concerns
• Oversee retail facility accounting and bookkeeping activities.
• Maintain up-to-date profit-and-loss information and make this available to the management team.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and advise the appropriate personnel of these
• Determine the reasons for budget variances
• Monitor outstanding debtors and their agreed profile, ensure these are chased up and paid out within agreed debtor period
• Make suggestions to adjust budgets in order to allocate resources in a cost-effective manner while remaining within budgetary guidelines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience working within the automotive industry would be advantageous
• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Confidence to use initiative, to problem solve and prepare concise and relevant reports
• Computer literate
