Job Description

Business Performance Management: Ensuring that FP&A operates as a valued business partner, to ensure finance information is rigorously used in decision-making and performance is accurately measured and forecasted.

  • Leads forecast and annual planning processes including setting targets, and long-term goals. Explains and communicates key drivers, including drawing on evidence from external sources. Anticipates issues and recommends solutions to meet forecast commitments.
  • Develops, establishes and continuously improves the performance management framework and appraisal methodology; Advises the Leadership Team/Board on effective performance management; Advises on optimal use of financial resources (e.g. working capital etc); Advises decision-makers on selecting KPIs.
  • Integrates learning from analysis and applies to business performance resolving issues to ensure delivery of the business plan; Leads business partners to define strategic information requirements; Integrates internal and external information and perspectives to develop meaningful analysis.

Leading strategic and operational planning: Big picture understanding and commercial decision-making.

  • Leveraging internal and external commercial environment. Has in-depth knowledge of trends in external environment and competitive activity and translates these into opps and threats analysis; Is actively sought out by peers and Exec for expertise in consistently finding commercial solutions; Sees big picture beyond area of immediate responsibility; Identifies subtle, obscure linkages critical to success.
  • Executing strategy by translating into short-term goals and tracking delivery. Predicts, plans and manages resources to ensure delivery of strategic plans. Uses financial goals/targets to influence direction of business; Responds decisively to unforeseen challenges and reprioritises activity accordingly.

Implementing Compliance and Controls: Implementing compliance and internal controls framework.

  • Applies Nomad values to all transactions, with the confidence to escalate if uncertain; Maintains knowledge of laws and tax rules and accounting standards and applies to forward and backward-looking situations for the benefit of the business. Interacts with professional advisers; Oversees compliance of SOX processes; Monitors the internal control framework and segregation of duties.

Management and Financial Reporting:

  • Applies and uses GAAP, SAP & BPC; Adheres to all month-end processes and reporting including month end packs and presentations and meets all associated deadlines; Maintains accounting records in compliance with all requirements; Leads provision management.

Improving and Simplifying Systems and Processes: Champions change driving process simplification and standardisation.

  • Challenges the business to deliver long and short-term simplification; Anticipates systemic needs and proactively puts systems and processes in place; Oversees process simplification projects to successful implementation; Operates as strategic leader of processes, influencing other departments and stakeholders across the whole business.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Education: University graduate, qualified accountant
  • Experience: Min. 5+ years PQE. A track record of delivery in commercial finance roles with the ability to lead remote teams in matrix structure
  • Line Management and team development skills
  • Communicating with Impact
  • Leading and Motivating a team to out perform
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with good attention to detail
  • Able to apply intellect and judgement to influence cross-functional colleagues to act on financial recommendations in commercial decisions
  • Able to work collaboratively with peers and deliver through team members
  • Organised, strong prioritisation skills and delivery to tight timescales
  • Drive for results and high personal resilience
  • Self-motivated individual with an analytical mind-set to challenge the business
  • Mobility - travel regularly within the UK & Ire
  • Career progression - an active learner who wants to develop others and progress across Nomad as a finance leader. Progression will offer opportunities to relocate within Nomad
