Job Description

You will work within the Group finance team and also work closely with the FP&A and tax and treasury teams to drive the continuous improvement and development of high quality management information and insight across the organization. The individual will work on Group monthly reporting and forecasts as well as on externally reporting, including UK statutory accounts and the Group’s annual and interim reports. Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to priorities and multi-task, and excellent Excel skills are therefore absolutely necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, for areas of responsibility, in accordance with Group reporting deadlines
  • Play a vital role in the roll-forward and production of the interim and year end annual report and accounts
  • Preparing the consolidated statement of comprehensive income and statement of changes in equity
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and manage accounts including loans and intercompany accounts
  • Monthly checks on information submitted by other finance functions in the Group, such as ensuring that intercompany balances agree, cash flow checks and balance sheet analysis
  • Accounting for any intercompany transactions that flow through the Group structure and managing a large number of intercompany relationships
  • Monthly accounting for holding companies
  • Assist with the production of UK subsidiary statutory accounts and take responsibility for the e-filing of dormant statutory accounts
  • Assist treasury with accounting for and administration of FX deals
  • Review of monthly foreign exchange movements and providing commentary on variance analysis. Improve the foreign exchange reporting process across the Group.
  • Complete carbon reporting submissions for the Group and involved with Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures
  • Actively involved with accounting for acquisitions and disposals
  • Assisting with the integration of new acquisitions into the Group consolidation
  • Identify process improvements, automation of regular tasks and time efficiencies; and embed adoption across the Group, for example headcount reporting, foreign exchange reporting, fixed asset register clean-up
  • Maintaining the UK fixed asset register
  • Review proposals for capitalizing development expenditure from divisions and provide advice where required, ensuring capex is compliant with IAS 38 requirements
  • Along with the Group Finance team, prepare technical accounting training material for cascading across the Group
  • Partner with the divisions and liaise with overseas accountants
  • Assist with SAP BFC and controls queries from the Group
  • Ad hoc projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong technical skills, commercially minded, professional, proactive, good communicator and a team player
  • Organized, good attention to detail and take ownership of work
  • Demonstrate excellence in Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Capable in developing and maintaining large models, and analyzing data
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and working effectively to meet tight deadlines in a small team
  • A knowledge of business software – GL systems such as NetSuite, and financial consolidation systems such as SAP Business Objects (Financial Consolidation) would be advantageous
