Job Description
- Assist with the preparation of monthly accounts for the plc costs entity
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assist the Group Finance team with the production of the Annual and Interim report and IFRS accounts
- Develop strong technical accounting knowledge to assist the Group Finance team in complex areas such as Share based payments and Acquisition and Disposal Accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for UK and overseas entities
- Assist with information requests relating to UK and overseas tax returns
- Assist in the preparation of budget and forecast financial schedules and reports
- Build strong relationships with the Group Finance and Management Accounts teams
- Develop an understanding of accounting software and play a part in developing ongoing improvements to the reporting of financial information
- Contribute to one off projects and be prepared to respond to ad hoc finance related requests
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A degree with minimum 2.1 qualification, and experience as a trainee accountant in an accountancy practice or finance function
- Progression towards your accountancy qualification with a commitment to becoming a qualified accountant
- A strong exam track record to date
- Excellent numeracy and communication skills
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to priorities and adhere to timetables
- Strong attention to detail
- A high level of personal drive and motivation
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to use initiative
- A positive outlook and ‘can-do’ attitude
- Is passionate about their progression within the world of Finance
