Job Description

• This role will suit someone who is inquisitive and determined to develop in a fast paced and highly controlled environment.
• Responsible for daily accounting for all treasury activity including daily bank reconciliations and suspense account clearance
• Ensure the interface between the treasury management system (Quantum) and the accounting system (SAP) is complete and issues are resolved in a timely manner
• The preparation of monthly, yearly and half yearly accounting and reporting, including hedge accounting, FX derivatives, interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps and credit valuation adjustments
• Preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and tax for the treasury reporting legal entity
• Preparation and distribution of the monthly, weekly and ad hoc Treasury Reports which includes the monitoring of KPI’s across Group Treasury, Group liquidity, Group counterparty risk and Group Covenants and is reported to the Group CFO
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and system integrity, escalating any foreseeable issues or opportunities for improvement to management where required
• Establish effective, robust and open working relationships with key customers (including Corporate Finance teams, Group Treasury, Group Tax, Group legal, Internal Audit and the External Audit team) to ensure expectations are managed, key issues communicated and potential blockers resolved in a timely manner

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Graduate or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably commercial, numerical or scientific
• Fully qualified with a recognized accountancy body, preferably ICAEW or ACCA
• Working accounting experience, preferably in a treasury environment but not essential
• Familiarity with accounting for financial instruments would be an advantage
• Experience in the use of Treasury Management System, Bloomberg and SAP would be an advantage
• Thorough and conscientious with strong attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint (Think-Cell) and Word
