Our unit recognizes that reliable clinical information is fundamental to informing safe and effective care, identifying areas for improvement, and assessing the impact of changes to practice. You will support the Data and Audit Link Nurse in the collection and validation of clinical and demographic information on computerized systems, ensuring that it is complete, accurate and timely, and to assist the nursing team in providing excellent, evidence-based and holistic care. Based on a busy, dynamic unit, providing specialist critical care to acutely ill patients, you will be required to balance their clinical and non-clinical responsibilities in response to changing clinical pressures and the guidance of the duty coordinator.
You will be comfortable working under their own initiative or as part of a multi-professional team. They will possess good organizational and information technology skills, with experience in digital clinical information systems and audit tools. They will pay close attention to detail, be able to work to deadlines, able to manage and priorities their own work efficiently, and will help to establish and improve auditing processes. They must demonstrate good communication, interpersonal and verbal skills and be able to interact with service users and the general public, as well as internal and external colleagues. It is highly desirable that they have an understanding of the acute hospital environment and experience with direct patient care.
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and efficient data quality administrative support service and for assisting in the care of patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, ensuring all work is prioritized according to the demands and clinical pressures on the service under the guidance of those to which they are accountable.
