Job Description

We assist with many different payment needs, including business payment solutions, personal payments abroad (for example buying a property), travel money at airports, and supporting the global supply chain of wholesale banknotes. The role will seek to improve the service delivered by the finance department, both internally within the business (e.g. ensuring accurate mgmt. accounting reporting; business partnering through assisting divisional managers understand cost and revenue streams) and also externally (e.g. prompt resolution of referral partner payment queries; point of contact for external accountants). You will need to demonstrate high attention to detail, have an agile and logical approach to completing tasks and be able to independently make and challenge decision making to help drive continuous improvements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take on a fundamental role within the Finance team, who is keen to get involved in multiple tasks within an established growing international organization, and provides amazing scope for both strategic and operational self-development.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • To excel in this role you would need to be interested in, working towards or currently a part-qualified accountant (ideally either ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent, with proven work experience in a related position
  • A strong knowledge of Financial Services and Foreign Exchange markets would be advantageous
  • Good demonstrable knowledge and practical experience of basic accounting concepts and recommending process improvements to resolve payment related queries.
  • Naturally, you would have a high attention to detail and an organised approach
  • To enjoy this role, you would need to be positive and enthusiastic. You would also need to be a team player
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work unsupervised whilst managing multiple tasks would help you succeed in this role
  • Be technologically savvy and a natural problem solver
  • You would need to have intermediate skills with Microsoft packages – specifically Excel and Access (including pivot tables) or equivalent
  • An ability to speak Portuguese would be an advantage
