Job Description

The role involves a full and diverse workload including:

• Analysis: Leading specific workstreams or topics within reporting and disclosure policy, and producing analysis and recommendations to move these workstreams forward. This could involve both policy development and implementation. This will also involve applying accounting knowledge to support the design of reporting or disclosure requirements
• Communication and Influencing: Drafting policy notes and briefings, and presenting recommendations to seniors or relevant Committees. Influencing external contacts, such as firms or members of international working groups, to achieve our policy objectives
• Stakeholder management: Developing and maintaining a network of contacts, including policy specialists, legal colleagues, and data users. Seeking input from this internal network to support analytical work and policy notes, and keeping this network up-to-date on the work of the team. Coordinating with internal stakeholders on the processes for implementing changes to reporting requirements
• Collaboration: Providing support on behalf of the team to policy leads in other areas regarding reporting and disclosure issues related to their policy area

The team deals with both reporting and disclosure requirements, for banking clients and insurers, so there may be an opportunity to tailor the role according to the experience of the successful applicant.

The Successful Applicant

Senior Associate - Accounting, Reporting and Disclosure

City of London

• An understanding of the prudential approach to financial regulation, and experience of interpreting or advising on current UK or European regulatory requirements for banks or insurers
• Chartered accountant with experience in banking or insurance accounting
• Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and of developing proposals based on input from stakeholders
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting or disclosure requirements for banks or insurers, and experience of providing advice on how to apply these requirements
