Job Description

The role of Management Accountant (MA) sits within the management accounting function within the finance team. Based in the Territorial Headquarters they assist the Social Work Trust Mission Management Accountant (MMA) in the support of budget holders. The management accounting team are responsible for providing financial support and business partnering to their aligned customer groups, providing investment/business case support along with supporting tenders and projects. They drive budgets and capital planning and provides analysis and reporting in addition to monthly management accounting We are currently looking for a new Management Accountant (Financial Partner) to support our Anti Human Trafficking activities and other special projects with some UK travel eventually expected.

Key Responsibilities:

In liaison with the Birmingham office, the MA for AHT & Projects leads the provision of full management accounting services for their area, provide financial analysis, budgeting support and financial planning ensuring they are reflecting the organisation’s missional ethos and objectives. They provide customer focused proactive financial partnership support to meet the department’s current requirements & planned future developments, advise on operational decision making, driving organisational performance and building financial capability.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Being fully CIMA/CCAB qualified
  • Significant experience of management accounting, balanced scorecards, budgeting & forecasting
  • Financial business partnering and financial planning & analysis experience
  • Experience of developing financial models to enable strategic and commercial decision making
  • Strong stakeholder management; able to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Successfully supported organisations in understanding business cases and what is required for good decision making
  • Proven report writing capability

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
