Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- As a team member of the Fung Corprorate Services Group, to support Global Tax team in servicing primarily the Global Brands Group with meeting its obligations under global legislation, primarily European, and advising the business accordingly.
- To support Global Tax team in embedding tax risk management infrastructure aligned with the group’s tax strategy.
- Potential expansion of role to support other parts of the wider Fung Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing Country by Country Reporting filing and associated notifications and leading on monitoring changes and implementation of rules across our jurisdictions
- Preparing GBG’s Master File and co-ordination on local file preparation and transfer pricing reviews
- Leading on ongoing EU MDR process and supporting team on review of potentially reportable transactions
- Monitoring adherence with OneSource Workflow Manager globally and supporting tax governance, strategy and CCO
- Supporting Finance and HR teams in ongoing UK PAYE and European VAT compliance and associated queries
- Project managing outsourcing of UK tax compliance processes
- Support group’s tax reporting obligations including embedding improved processes
- Research and advise on ad hoc queries within the European and Asian business
- Point person for tax review of commercial contracts and associated WHT support
- Active participation in Tax Team business partnering, with an allocation of certain teams/jurisdictions
- Support team with other projects and research as needed

- Refine and implement “best practice” compliance and reporting process and policy as appropriate
Operations & Results:
- Identifying and implementing approved tax strategies to minimize the group’s tax liabilities
- Identifying and implementing appropriate compliance and reporting processes
Customers & Relationships:
- Building effective working relationships across the tax team and the wider finance and business functions
- Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with HMRC and external advisers
Leadership & Teams:
- Able to demonstrate a depth of technical knowledge
- Effective communicator with the ability to develop strong working relationships and explain tax in simple terms with a commercial perspective

Skills and Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Advisor, 2-3 year PQE, Big 4/Mid tier trained, experience of working in-house preferable
- Preferably broad range of tax experience, otherwise strong technical knowledge of corporate tax and ideally some exposure to employment tax and VAT issues and keen to learn and develop in this area
- Strong organisational skills and expert excel skills a plus
- A self-starter, comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Confidence in communicating simply and effectively and managing both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to face and manage change head on
- Strong personal work ethic and integrity
