Job Description

This role would be crucial in providing accurate and timely financial reporting for the organization and delivering strong financial controls across the function.
Key Responsibilities

  • Various month end responsibilities such as balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments and accurate posting of income 
  • Deliver the year end audit working with external auditors regarding any queries
  • Delivering the annual statutory accounts for the organization in compliance with Charity SORP 
  • Management of the fixed asset register
  • Complete and submit the charity VAT returns 
  • Manage one Finance Assistant and ensure accurate posting of data within their role
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to support ad hoc reporting 
  • Responsible for finance system maintenance and highlighting room for improvement

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A part or newly qualified accountant (CCAB)
  • Experience working within a charitable or arts organization ideally
  • Strong experience in financial accounting including statutory reporting
  • Knowledge of tax (ideally charity VAT but not essential)
  • Strong systems experience (ideally Access Dimensions but not essential)
