The Role

Aviva Investors has refreshed its business strategy and is embarking on a period of significant transformation with ambitious performance targets. The Manager of FP&A is responsible for managing the annual planning and quarterly re-forecasting process, delivering timely and insightful analysis to facilitate performance challenge and active course correction by the Executive team and their direct reports and support Group and Board reporting and messaging

The Team

The Financial Planning & Analysis team provides insight and challenge to ensure Aviva Investors business leaders develop, agree and deliver on ambitious, strategically aligned and financially disciplined plans.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager by ensuring delivery of and continuously improving Aviva Investors planning, forecasting, monthly MI
• Works with the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to prepare high quality Plan pack, Quarterly Rolling Forecasts (QRFs), Business Review Meetings (BRMs), and supporting analysis
• Works with Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, to coordinate activities and develop plans that are strategically aligned
• Engagement with Finance Director, CFO, Finance Business Partners and other key business contacts on performance developments, challenges and insights.
• Contributes to streamlining the planning and forecasting process and providing insightful analysis through Anaplan system development
• Utilises financial analysis, top-down modelling and external insights to identify areas to improve, clearly present business performance, challenge viability of plans / forecasts and present insights to enable timely intervention
• Maintain active dialogue and strong working relationship with Group FP&A team, other Aviva Finance teams
• Work with the Capital and Risk team on annual stress testing the Plan
• Support on ad-hoc analysis and broader FP&A team activities as directed
• Mentoring FP&A Analyst with technical and other knowledge to help ensure that outputs meet quality standards.

Requirements

• Experience as an FP&A Manager in complex organisations (ideally in Asset Management) or equivalent
• Experience working on Anaplan and Qlik sense would be preferable
• Experience of management and improving annual budget and re-forecast processes
• Good understanding of strategic / business issues and investor relations
• Understanding of financial systems and processes
• Sound knowledge of investment management business
• Significant analytical skillset
• Strong quantitative abilities
• Able to solve complex problems
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and stakeholder management
• Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
• A demonstrable ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to tight deadlines
• Ability to challenge and drive forward change
• Advanced computer software skills, including writing macros in Excel
• Qualified Accountant or equivalent
