Job Description

This individual has excellent financial knowledge to help with the stat and tax reporting, they are primarily focused on how to help the business to drive both the top and bottom line. This role is key to the Finance team and will be involved in developing and driving effective reporting and control processes not from their desk but out in the business. You’ll be responsible for delivering on both the commercial and financial agenda. The key focuses on this role today are;

• Work with the Accounting team to develop and maintain a robust reporting process for both internal (management reporting) and external stakeholders (Tax, Audits & Stats).
• Take ownership of subsidiary month end process in line with the monthly reporting timetable.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts including full responsibility for the company’s P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and submission to HMRC.
• Acting as a main point of contact for auditors, preparing lead schedules and ensuring a smooth audit.
• Driving business partnering, meeting with key business stakeholders to clearly communicate the monthly Cost Centre performance v budget and explain key variances.
• Work with the finance team to develop ingenious automated and controlled finance processes.
• Deliver on local and Global initiatives to enable business improvement.
• Mentor the more junior members of the finance team as they build their careers.
• Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You are a part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with brilliant communication skills to influence management and can present financial information to non-finance stakeholders. You are keen to work with both management and financial reporting as it gives you a full breadth to your role.

You have a real focus on detail and can truly leverage Excel to its full potential.
