Job Description

Initially reporting into the current Head of Finance, this is a developmental opportunity for the right person. The successful candidate with therefore have a real opportunity to make a difference to the ongoing growth and success of this business. Due to the size and nature of the business, no 2 days will be the same, so if you like variety as well as getting involved in the commercial aspects outside of finance, this could be the role you have been seeking.

Duties will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Responsible for overseeing the production of the entire month end reporting and control process
  • Creating detailed forecasts and budgets to enable strategic decision making
  • Producing monthly P&L and balance sheet reports
  • Building business models
  • Financial modelling
  • Managing tax returns, annual reporting, VAT returns, corporation tax
  • Monitoring cash flow, managing aged debtors/owning the short term cash flow forecast
  • Continually assessing opportunities to improve the Group’s working capital position; present appropriate recommendations to the COO/CEO for consideration
  • Assess the relevancy of financial policies and controls in the context of changing business requirements and new initiatives
  • Continuous process improvement and streamlining of finance function
  • Variance analysis
  • Working closely with their outsourced accountants, overseeing bookkeeping & payroll

The Person:

– Qualified or part qualified accountant/actively studying (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)

– Able to identify opportunities to continually add value through process improvement

– Highly analytical with the ability to make informed decisions based on the data presented

– Financial modelling skills

– Flexible approach with a strong work ethic

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
