Job Description

You will gain experience of bringing accounts to the trial balance stage, reconciling control accounts and taking responsibility for the aspects of the general ledger that are under their control. You may assist with payments, indirect & direct taxation and preparation of the financial accounts, whilst also preparing data and narrative for various monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports concerning all aspects of the business. You will work together with finance colleagues, as well as colleagues from other departments, and provide a flexible approach that increases their exposure to finance practices and maximises their learning experience.

  • You will be competent in month end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • You will be able to use your initiative to resolve reconciliation issues and discrepancies.
  • You will be organized and quick to priorities your work as needed.
  • You will enjoy working as part of a busy team and be keen to take on new tasks as team roles rotate.
  • You will be happy to work closely with external auditors and provide them with support and assistance where necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Graduate in a relevant subject or qualified to at least AAT level 4.
  • Minimum of 3 A Levels Grade C+ (or equivalent) in relevant subjects.
  • Experience in bringing accounts to the trial balance stage and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Working towards further accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc.)
  • SAP experience
