Job Description

You are responsible for providing transactional accounting services; treasury, financial planning, analysis, reporting and commercial finance support to all business units and functions across all global locations.

You will be part of Financial Control team. The role contributes to the integrity of legal entity accounting for agreed entities and accounting processes within the UCIA region; preparation of manual journals, review of manual journals and accounting processes prepared offshore, month end close reporting to group, cash management, statutory accounts preparation, liaison with auditors, contribution to board reporting and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of manual journals for the month end financial close to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements
  • Preparation of accounting processes such as intercompany, balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements
  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of offshore transaction processing
  • Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary at legal entity level, including board reporting; ensuring key drivers are understood
  • Maintain integrity of balance sheets; ensuring any queried or judgmental items are managed on an ongoing, timely basis
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts to agreed external reporting deadlines; including account preparation, review and liaison with external auditors on audit deliverables and queries
  • Delivery of monthly cash flow forecasts and preparation of documentation for bi-annual dividend flows or loan requirements/payments
  • Preparation of financial regulatory returns to agreed reporting deadlines
  • Contribute to a range of projects
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within scope of work.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification and practical experience
  • Awareness of technical accounting and finance knowledge – accounting standards and applicable regulations
  • Demonstrable knowledge of corporate business context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced at prioritizing workload and delivering to deadlines
  • Awareness of applicable regulation
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
