Job Description
We have ambitious plans to grow and are looking for a full-time qualified accountant or senior AAT to join our busy finance team. The successful applicant will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial-led environment, and will work closely with the Directors to ensure the business maintains strong financial control and produce the financial information needed to successfully grow the business. As a member of small team, you will have a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, these will include;
- Reconciling bank accounts
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for each business and consolidated accounts, including pre-payments, accruals and depreciation
- Manage budgets and financial forecasts (including cash flow) and report on variances
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysing and reporting on business/department profitability and performance, and recommend improvements
- Co-ordinate the preparation and filing of statutory/regulatory reporting and returns (such as VAT, PAYE, NI, National Statistics Office, Companies House, etc.)
- Controlling petty cash, checking credit cards, and validating employee expenses
- Assisting other team members in relation to sales invoices, purchases, and credit control.
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Preparing invoices for payment, assisting with the purchase order process.
- Assist with governance requirements such as insurance policies
- Assist with financial reporting and controls for our venture investments
- Other business/financial tasks as required.
