Job Description

You will report directly to the Board to provide financial leadership and maximize value creation, whilst ensuring legal compliance, and managing risks to the business. This is a newly created role for this high growth privately owned SME and it will provide the opportunity to play a key part in the on-going upwards trajectory of the business. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the Finance Department, being the go-to person for the Board on all financial matters
  • Develop and maintain the strategic plan, budgeting and forecasting with the ability to prepare financial plans that incorporate the key drivers in the business
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiation and product investment decisions
  • Maintain a standard costing system to ensure accurate materials costing and price changes are tracked
  • Develop and deliver best practice on all financial aspects of the business
  • Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment
  • Undertaking special projects as directed by the Board

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven experience of a working within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Ability to share in the development and growth of both a continuous improvement and lean management culture change in a manufacturing business
  • Commercial awareness, advising on the best path of value creation for the business
