Job Description

This role is responsible for the accounting, reporting and controls over IFRS15 EE revenues.

  • Monthly Accounting: Accountable for IFRS15 gross margin accounting and ensure delivery of monthly calculation and reporting of EE PAYM revenues
  • Stakeholder engagement: Establish and maintain close working relationships with all teams involved in Consumer and SME IFRS15 revenue
  • Oversee monthly reviews of key IFRS15 assumptions including SASPS
  • Analytical Review: Analytical review of monthly results to both explain significant variances MoM and Vs flash forecast and develop expertise in Anaplan reporting capabilities and analysis.
  • Audit and Internal Control: Own controls for IFRS15 processes. Ensure compliance with SOX and other internal controls within own area and liaising with external Auditors to support completion of statutory Audits.
  • Flash Forecasting: Providing weekly Flash forecast of the current month outlook with analysis and commentary Vs. prior month
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting completing monthly reconciliations and monthly reporting on working capital movements. Working closely with Commercial Finance to create forecast values and assumptions
  • Projects and Propositions: Ensuring that revenue accounting requirements are captured within systems based projects and that new propositions are appropriately accounted for.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and delivering process improvements within area of responsibility.
  • Accountable for ensuring all business activities are carried out in accordance with local legislative requirements, which enhance and protect for now and the future. This will include developing an understanding of FCA regulations & reporting requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to complete operational tasks to a high standard as well as having a broad understanding of wider business change and owning what needs to be done to manage any impact on IFRS15 processes
  • Ability to complete month end to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data and new systems and models
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of control environments
  • Solution-driven; identify issues, get to root causes through the use of financial analysis and insight to diagnose and solve problems
  • Communication skills - translating financial outcomes to manager and key stakeholders through both oral and written communication.
  • Confident to work well within a team and with other teams and build strong working collaborative relationships.
  • Bias towards bold and confident thinking, challenging the status quo where appropriate
  • Able to priorities work and work independently on core deliverables
  • Support more junior members of the team
  • Be curious and comfortable with change
  • Qualified Accountant with post qualified experience
  • Experience of working with large volumes of data and in a strong control environment
