Job Description

The principal aim of the finance department is to drive and support the Munitions business in achieving its business targets (both financial and non-financial). The function is embedded within the business and provides robust financial advice on all key matters.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to participate in demand specification, solution assessment and testing, liaise with wider finance team & SAP project team and engage with key stakeholders including the UK MOD were we are growing within export markets and other functions.

  • Coordinating with the finance team and SAP Finance lead to deliver training requirements as appropriate, ensuring communication of sessions, materials, agendas, actions and additional information is provided in a timely manner
  • Working with the data owners and SAP Finance lead to ensure the SAP Finance data is of sufficient quality, completeness, and accuracy throughout the migration activity, including the resultant SAP4 solution. Note this may include reviewing and, where appropriate, amending the current work processes to align them with new capabilities moving forwards
  • Working alongside the project team to provide early life support to finance and other S4 users across Land, and to ensure sufficient transition of knowledge to nominated Finance Key Users
  • Delivering value adding and robust financial service to the project team and initiate continual review and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure that the financial control requirements of the business are met
  • Being the Super User of the implemented system and provide training and support to end users across all functions post implementation ensuring a good working knowledge is created
  • Ensuring all internal processes and procedures and aligned to updated system including adherence to Financial Control Framework and Finance Policy Manual

You will have fantastic business partnering skills with highly effective communication, persuasion and influencing skills at all levels. You will have good Commercial acumen and ability to work across functions in the business. You will be analytical and have good problem-solving skills in complex situations to aid decision making, with a strong desire to learn and proactively seek solutions to problems you encounter. You will also be calm under pressure and enable to multitask both team and task against tight deadlines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part Qualified Accountant / QBE
  • Knowledge and applied experience of project financial management within a CAM project environment and experience of IT implementation programmes.
  • Expert in navigation of a Finance / ERP system
  • Experience of good Stakeholder Management skills
