Group Environmental Manager
Job Description
Together with the preparation of a company framework in relation to Environmental Management, this role will also be responsible for:
- Collation of energy usage by site – Gas, electricity, water, air and heat
- Green workplace design – layout, recycling
- Effluent and waste stream monitoring and identification and project management of reduction programmes,
- Carbon usage monitoring and reporting – Carbon disclosure programme,CO2 usage, transport, business travel
- Regulatory compliance – including Ozone system compliance, alcohol and hazardous waste licencing/certification by site, pest control processes, packaging regulations as required
- Certifications and audits – Manage and ownership of environmental components including SMETA, Ecovadis, ISO or equivalent accreditation audits
- Generation and management of environmental procedures and systems as appropriate for the Company, recognising that Germany may have bespoke requirements
- Generation of and management of Quarterly Environmental steering committee meetings
To be considered for this role the ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to the FMCG sector, both in the UK and Europe.
- Practical experience of applying these standards in an FMCG environment
- Project Management skills
- Stakeholder management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good meeting and presentation skills
- Experience liaising with external third parties – auditors, suppliers etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
