Job Description
Create, format, edit, proofread and finalize a wide variety of complex legal documents, presentations, correspondence, memoranda and board committee meeting
materials/minutes using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Workshare Professional, Worldox
Process corporate documents for signature, distribute and/or upload to corporate database
Maintain attorney’s calendars, schedule various meetings, including videoconferences, and proactively handle upcoming events
Monitor daily emails and correspondence to determine urgency and handle accordingly
Facilitate the meeting of deadlines and provide timely reminders
Answer phones and take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
Process local counsel invoices for payment
Make travel arrangements
Create and process expense reports
File, organize, scan and photocopy legal documents
Legal research using Lexis/Westlaw
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a legal secretary/legal assistant and will provide support to a legal staff consisting of several professionals, including General Counsel’s. The candidate must be reliable, have a strong work ethic and have excellent computer (typing minimum 75 wpm), writing, grammar and proofreading skills, along with overall attention to detail.
The right candidate will be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks, complete them under time constraints and maintain confidentiality.
