Job Description
Provide support to Service Managers and staff teams on financial procedures, working together to ensure prompt receipt of Petty Cash, Bank and Credit Card returns.
Responsible for chasing receipts and entering information from the monthly returns, petty cash and credit cards onto the financial ledger, identifying and resolving any discrepancies with the relevant area.
Ensure reconciliation of service’s bank returns to bank statements, plus petty cash and credit card accounts and identify any grants or donations received or spent by the service.
Provide general support producing monthly reports for services and Trustees.
Review the debtor balances for the people we support financial contributions, ensuring they reflect the amount charged and that all amounts due are recovered.
Liaise with the contract income team advising of any complex or disputed debt issues for follow up action.
Provide cover for purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and payment runs.
Assist with raising regular sales invoices and related debt management
General Office Administration - filing all accounts correspondence, ordering office supplies.
Provide and analyze data as requested by the Management Accountant, Finance Accountant and Income Accountant.
Build and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external.
Share responsibility with the Trust for own professional/career development, including attendance at training courses where required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good IT skills, especially word and excel
Good verbal and written communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, people we support and a range of stakeholders
Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and be self-motivated
Ability to identify issues and develop a logical and clear approach to problem solving, and tenacity to see something through to satisfactory resolution
Effective time management and work prioritization skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Willingness to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
Educated to at least GCSE Level A-C or equivalent in math and English or equivalent
AAT qualified, or part qualified, or relevant equivalent experience that demonstrates competence
