Job Description

The role should take an active role in the financial review meetings under the supervision of our Plant Business Partner, challenging on reduction of cost, value for money and improving performance. Responsibilities include:

  • Gaining a full understanding of the production month end process, closely supporting the Plant Business Partner.
  • Indirect plant costs and overheads:
    • Posting of overhead accruals and prepayments to ensure costs are an accurate reflection of the period.
    • Conducting monthly review meetings with forecast holders.
    • Providing accurate and timely reports for specific business areas.
    • Drive forecast holders to continuously look for cost performance tracker savings.
  • Providing timely and accurate report to key stakeholders and supporting decision making from a financial and risk perspective:
    • Work with the Purchasing Administrator to fully justify all open PO’s.
    • Overtime reporting.
    • Develop and maintain manufacturing reports in Analysis for Office.
    • Presenting monthly results to management of miscellaneous various and PPV reporting files.
  • Embracing technology and looking for new ways to automate reporting where possible.
  • Competing standard cost updates:
    • Energy forecast
    • Producing forecast by work area
    • Comparative analysis of PCOs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline
  • Previous accounting experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages – specifically Excel (inc Analysis for Office)
  • SAP experience 
  • Clear communicator and demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impacting terms – finance for non-finance leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to act on analysis and provide feedback to key decision makers.
  • Delivering continuous improvement – ability to drive change
