Job Description

The role has a wide remit to support the Financial Control & Reporting team to maintain high standards of statutory entity reporting & legal entity control for the Information Services division. The successful candidate will hold a pivotal role in the team and require project management skills, end to end process ownership and the ability to proactively manage of key stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility of the delivery of the annual accounts of subsidiary companies of Information Services Division, including coordinating and project managing the end to end production and sign off process.
  • Partner with Entity Accountants & Controllers on the production of the accounts and project manage the timetable.
  • Own and publish timetable across key stakeholders
  • Co-ordination of the external audit process for companies within scope
  • Preparation statutory account templates, draft statutory accounts, board papers, and additional papers/letter of support in partnership with Entity Accountants & Controllers
  • Processing of audit adjustments through the accounts and manage a coordinate approach to book offline adjustments into the underlying ledgers & the Group Consolidation (HFM).
  • Manage the governance process, both with external auditors and key internal stakeholders, such as Entity Accountants, Divisional Financial Controllers, Group Reporting, Company Secretary, Tax
  • Support in the development of standardisation of key processes and production of detailed process documentation
  • Review and support possible buildout of onshore / offshore model for statutory accounts process and production.
  • Advise the Financial Controller and other working groups on the implications of significant transactions & events on the statutory accounts presentation, external disclosures, accounting recognition and audit process.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA. ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Strong track record in:
    • Preparation of Statutory accounts across multiple entities
    • Financial accounting in a large organisation
    • Strong IFRS Standards knowledge
    • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles and reporting to tight deadlines
    • Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders
    • Managing cross geography relationships
  • Experience of Oracle GL, HFM, Essbase, Smartview desirable
  • Be a lead proponent of driving a collaborative culture and approach to working across finance
  • Ability to scope and shape role while adapting to fast changing environment
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to design robust reporting frameworks
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues
  • Maximises opportunities; i.e. challenges ways of working, adopts Group practices, seeks and provides information and clarification.
  • Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
  • Utilises all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems and ensures the most appropriate solution is identified.
  • Strong planning and prioritising according to business needs.
