It is actively recruiting an Internal Auditor who either has a commercial or possibly an asset management background. A candidate can come from Practice with External Audit experience or from an inhouse internal audit role from any sector. That said, Energy, Real Estate, Construction, Telecoms are all particularly useful sectors to have experience in and banking and insurance are less likely to be of interest unless a candidate is particularly interested in moving away from FS into commerce. He or she must however have some experience of SOX /Sarbanes Oxley.

Although the company has well over $100bn of assets under management only a small proportion of the Audit work in the UK will involve looking at Asset Allocation etc. the vast majority will be auditing the actual companies in the portfolio, similar to an internal co-source type relationship. Progression can be within Group Internal Audit or quite possibly within one of the Group Businesses either in or more likely out of internal audit.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with internal or external audit exposure to develop their risk and control exposure and use it in a commercial setting with a career path that can either go upwards in internal audit or into a group company in another discipline.
