Job Description
Takes responsibility for the accurate and timely submission of all UK tax returns covering VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List, VAT908, excise duty and CT returns.
Provides tax advice to UK finance, commercial, operations and supply teams on all direct and indirect tax matters (customs, duty, VAT including Brexit related matters).
Manages the UK relationships with HMRC and auditors in respect of all tax and compliance matters.
Takes ownership of tax account reconciliations and month end/ year end reporting of balances together with tax related cash flow forecasts;
Assists with development of tax processes and procedures, including use of automation tools, to drive efficiencies whilst improving controls.
Tax support, guidance and advice to local & regional business and operations, project management, regulatory watch and lobbying, effective tax rate management, optimization tax working capital, communications with tax authorities, follow-up regional advisory costs, tax dispute resolution. End-to-end implementation & monitoring tax effectiveness various group tax structuring, M&A and greenfield projects
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
5 to 8 years relevant tax experience with preferable experience in “Big 4” environment to include delivery of UK tax returns and provision of advice for multi-national groups.
Knowledge of and experience with cross border commodity supply chains and industrial asset (terminal) operations would be an advantage
Professional accountancy and/or taxation qualification.
Hands on and capable of managing and delivering competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
Right first-time approach with strong technical, research and analytical skills.
Has a collaborative, positive and energetic approach with strong interpersonal & communication skills (both verbal and written).
