Job Description
You will work closely with the Buying team to build relations with new and existing suppliers, with the goal of expanding sales and market share. The role will involve introducing new suppliers to meet the current and future needs of the business, while ensuring continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and delivery, along with considering new product/service introduction. Excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to get into buying/procurement within the food industry. Fantastic training provided.
- Daily order placement / purchasing from suppliers
- Assisting buyers with sourcing of fresh produce
- Building good relationships with new suppliers and maintaining current relationships with suppliers
- Manage the supply of produce effectively in the short, medium and long term through effective buying, sourcing and supply chain management
- Support buyers in planning and trading of product lines
- Monitor stock levels against sale projections
- Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis
- Negotiate effectively in terms of product quality, volume, delivery and price with both suppliers/customers to increase margins and subsequently profits
- Liaising with line leaders on a daily basis to discuss all orders to be processed
- Negotiate with suppliers in a fair and responsible way
- Ad-hoc duties as dictated by Buyers and Management
- Day to day admin for Imports from the UK
- Customs Declarations
