Job Description

This support includes yearly Budget planning, actuals tracking, capital expenditure, investment appraisal, headcount management, cost controlling and project accounting. The role-holder will be required to use extensive analysis to work with the Function to drive enhanced planning, optimal decision making and stakeholder management. The role is critical in controlling major cost areas and providing support to senior management to understand the spend at Departmental and Regional levels.

A key responsibility will be to contribute to monthly and annual reporting cycles providing incisive reporting that shapes and influences decision-making. You will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager Business Partner for IT, as part of the Global Overheads Team.

  • To ensure accurate and timely financial management information is prepared for IT Stakeholders and key Leadership reviews, with detailed analysis of spend presented in a highly accessible format to ensure adhesion of non-finance Leaders
  • Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings and execute the Overheads efficiency Strategy across the Global IT Function to support them in achieving their ambitious cost growth targets
  • Support work with the individual Budget holders and the Group consolidation team to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive annual Global budgets as well as Monthly/Quarterly re-forecasts and actuals
  • To provide support for monthly Financial review meetings with Senior budget holders including the Global CIO and to act as a point of contact to support the budget holders with commercial business, capital and investment proposals
  • Feed into a monthly presentation of the Function Financial performance, full year forecast and Budget variances including the reporting of Financial opportunities and risk
  • To build strong relations across Group Finance and each Market and provide financial support to cost control decision making
  • Support the development of relevant KPIs, reporting and analysis
  • Review of monthly commitments and preparations of monthly accruals and prepayments reconciliations including timely follow up on queries
  • Be comfortable dealing with and working through issues and operational challenges with the Global IT Teams, getting into the appropriate level of detail to ensure your understanding of their cost drivers and your ability to input into our Global Cost or Business Reviews
  • Be dependent on your resourcefulness and ability to influence and partner with the Function’s non-finance leads

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Business Partnering experience with some Senior stakeholders
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Solid accounting skills, diligent and accurate
  • Ability to challenge, constructively questioning and understand the cost structure
  • Experience of Month-End Close, Budgeting and Forecasting processes
  • Excellent Excel skills, including being comfortable with pivots, advanced formulae and charting
  • Good PowerPoint skills, with an eye for detail and aesthetics
  • Excellent analytical ability with a great attention to detail
  • A team player with a positive, ‘will do’ attitude and the ability to be flexible yet have a disciplined approach
  • Good communication skills with the ability to make Financial information accessible to non-Financial people
  • Determined and assertive, prepared to get into the right level of detail to understand the core cost drivers of the Function
  • Robust personality comfortable Partnering with a complex Function
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to priorities workload and ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Prior experience of Management Accounts is essential (2 years minimum)
  • Previous exposure to Stakeholder management
  • Experience within a financial planning and analysis environment
  • Investment Appraisal/Financial modelling of commercial decisions
  • SAP & One Stream experience
