Job Description
You will make a difference as a Finance Officer by supporting the delivery of a range of quality and cost effective financial management and financial support within the children’s department of the council.
- You will be the key point of contact for budget holders, you will be responsible for the preparation of budget monitoring information. This involves working closely with budget holders, both face and to face and over the telephone and email to ensure up to date information is received.
- You will be responsible for ensuring prompt follow up on requests that are received from internal/external customers.
- You will use your own initiative, developing and prioritizing your work to meet set deadlines. You will also manage your own time to ensure key deadlines are met.
- You'll be responsible for supporting the Accountant in the following areas: forecasting, monitoring and accounting for the council's resources; forecasting, monitoring and accounting for Collection Fund, and liaison with major preceptors, and other local authorities involved in business rates pooling arrangements; management of Housing Benefit subsidy claims and audit arrangements.
