Job Description

You will be integral to the financial performance measurement of the company through production of timely and accurate financial information whilst aiding the manufacturing process through the provision of financial advice and support. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Senior Managers across the business/group and form part of the manufacturing facility senior management team.

  • As the financial lead of a manufacturing facility, you will take responsibility for, and support senior management in, all financial matters of the manufacturing process.
  • Play a lead role in the Governance of the business and the manufacturing process, driving a culture of cost control and efficiency of operations.
  • Work closely with the wider central finance team to ensure accurate and timely management of financial information and reporting into Parent Company.
  • Preparation of the Monthly Manufacturing Accounts.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and biannual forecasting process, ensuring budget holder ownership.
  • Manage the annual fixed asset budgeting process to strict authorization policy
  • Prepare end of year and half year reporting analysis to parent company.
  • Present monthly results to the Senior Management Team.
  • Work with the Project Director in the provision of project performance analysis and forecasting.
  • Management of the balance sheet including the fixed asset register.
  • Develop the financial IT processes associated with production (including costing analysis) to improve the confidence in financial information (e.g. stock valuation; product level profitability).
  • Work with the production buying team to ensure the internal purchasing controls drive efficiency and control costs.
  • Manage stock control and stock management procedures to ensure inventory levels are accurately recorded (this includes financial lead on stock counts).
  • Act as the point of contact onsite for all financial matters.
  • Liaise with the Shared Service team and the Spanish Parent Company as required.
  • Oversee the external financial audit onsite.
  • Work with the business to ensure adequate internal audit controls and act as the financial contact for internal audit.
  • Work across locations as required, including short visits to Spain.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We are looking for a qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA) who has skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Experience within a (Lean) manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience of BAAN is preferable.
  • Excellent system skills including Microsoft Excel skills to macro standard
  • Able to influence as a member of the Senior Management Team
  • Strong numerical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience of producing reports for external and internal stakeholders
  • The successful candidate will be able to work under their own supervision, be driven, proactive and live by the company’s moral values
  • Able to lead the budgeting process for the company
  • Experienced in yearend accounting and managing the audit process
  • Spanish language skills are helpful but not essential.
