Job Description

The role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a growing team where you will be supporting Managers and Directors by delivering quality client engagements and building relationships with clients to develop new opportunities. We pride ourselves on Finance transformation, and you will support our clients to design and implement their operating model, re-design their Finance processes and improve the maturity of their finance function.
You will work with colleagues across our capability offerings (HR, IT, etc.) in the UK and globally for a broad range of clients ensuring no one day is the same. Currently, most of our projects are delivered remotely, but candidates may need to travel post-lock down restrictions as work may be delivered nationally, based on a broad spectrum of public sector clients.

  • Project delivery: leading and managing elements of projects or work-streams of a small to medium size and complexity (including analyzing and interpreting data, drafting report findings and attending client meetings)
  • Business development: supporting senior members of the team with preparing proposals/ bids for future work, assisting in building a strategy and overseeing its delivery, developing compelling and robust proposals all of which result in winning engagements.
  • Relationship building: creating and maintaining relationships both internally in the firm and externally with clients and other parties, supporting leadership with understanding the market and our client issues
  • Practice development: supporting processes and initiatives that are key to scaling the business and delivering our Mission Statement
  • People development: working together, supporting team members and accelerating their development with a particular emphasis on coaching and skills transfer.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • An understanding of core finance processes (e.g. financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, payments etc.)
  • Stakeholder management, written and oral communication skills;
  • Analytical ability and attention to detail;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and
  • CCAB qualified accountant (e.g. CIPFA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Experience of working in Local Government, either as a consultant or within a Finance team.
  • Business case writing and review (e.g. Green Book-compliant business cases)
  • Finance transformation experience (e.g. operating model design and implementation, process re-design or working with clients increase the maturity of their finance function)
  • Project management skills
  • Awareness of automation and its potential applications within finance;
