Job Description
The role can be offered at a Senior Finance Officer level for those who are AAT qualified and looking to complete their ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or at a Finance Manager level for those with experience of managing an SME Finance function and who are ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified / qualified. You will play an integral part in our team and your main responsibilities will be to:
- Preparation of monthly reporting information for Finance Director (Consultant), Accountant & Board
- Responsibility for debtor/creditor control including all invoices and refunds
- Oversight and management of sales and purchase ledger
- Daily focus on cash balances and cash flow management
- Preparation of reports and claims for funders (e.g Innovate UK)
- Budgeting/Forecasting
- Cost control & variance analysis with commentary of drivers in deviation of company cost profile
- Management of P&L and Balance Sheet
- Management of Weekly Cashflow forecast
- Review of submission of quarterly VAT returns and payroll
- Reviewing and reconciling the Business Accounts to ensure that the balance is accurate
- Prepare and provide data to our Finance Director (Consultant) and Accountant to support the year end accounts and close process to deadlines
- Responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and development of the businesses financial IT systems
- Continuous development and improvement of systems, process, and procedures across finance
- Ensuring all transactional, payroll and VAT/taxation requirements are met
- Collating data relating bank payments e.g., contractor invoices and payroll, purchase ledger, payroll and gaining appropriate approval and sign off
- Coordinating and assisting with the preparation of annual PSA and P11D schedules
- Ad hoc finance projects
