Job Description

The Accountant completes important month end activities and reports. They also support the Senior Management Accountant to prepare reports. They play a key role in the Finance team providing a professional management accounting service. They have proven technical and system skills. The Accountant ensures an accurate and timely service is provided to our partners. Partners may be budget holders, project managers or asset owners. These partners are responsible for budget management. They will also act as a finance business partner for certain Business Units and will support the business with strategic advice. They complete month end processes, including processing journals, asset completion, and accruals and forecast updates. They perform reconciliations and investigate significant variances. They also prepare adhoc reports to help the business understand its income and costs. They ensure that appropriate evidence is kept to satisfy internal and external auditor requests.

  • Process payroll, fixed assets, prepayments, expenditure accruals, income accruals, deferred income, and depreciation journals for management accounts by the agreed deadlines
  • Complete the Management Accounts pack consisting of summarized balance sheet, detailed income / spend analysis by cost Centre’s, capital expenditure, staff turnover and other HR information, sustainability and KPI performance, analysis of debtors and bank balances, and narrative that tells the story around financial information
  • Attend Business Performance reviews for Partner operations and VCA Europe Srl and feedback to Senior Financial & Management Accountant and Financial controller
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations as agreed with Senior Financial & Management Accountant
  • Completion of quarterly VAT return
  • Assist with the preparation of the statutory accounts and accompanying schedules within the specified timescales. Resolve auditor queries as appropriate
  • Maintain the Non-current asset register with additions and disposals and reference data
