Job Description

The Accounting & General Ledger department deals with a wide range of finance functions, from processing payments through management and financial accounting, budgeting and systems accounting to a complex treasury function. As a result of growth within the business, increased responsibilities, reporting deadlines and development of current team members we have an exciting and newly created opportunity within our experienced and developing team for a post qualified Accountant. A tremendous role, as detailed below.

  • Deliver robust financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the audit process through close liaison with external auditors
  • Keep up to date with changes to accounting standards and accepted practices, and ensure that financial information is prepared accordingly
  • Produce financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Manage audit process for Group reporting (interim, hard close and year end) and statutory reporting
  • Complete monthly financial reporting for ALD UK via Figaro (Société Générale consolidation tool)
  • Prepare quarterly tax forecast and calculation, including deferred tax asset calculation
  • Take ownership of accounting for property leases – recognition in accordance with IFRS 16, dilapidation provisions, onerous lease impairments, required disclosures
  • Take ownership of accounting for interest rate swaps – monthly revaluation, cash flow hedge accounting
  • Analyze and review the impact of changes in accounting standards on ALD financial results; implement changes to accounting policies as required
  • Supporting a robust controls environment including balance sheet reconciliation reviews and permanent supervision controls
  • Collaborate with the wider Finance team on ad hoc project work

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA)
  • It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have at least 2yrs experience post qualification
  • Proven experience within an Audit environment
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, report writing and presenting
  • Ability to coach and motive others
  • Develops others by sharing own experience and expertise
  • Excellent time management, planning, organizational and delegation skills
  • Self-motivated
