Job Description

You will provide accurate and timely financial information to the business whilst ensuring plant figures are reported in line with month end deadlines and Knauf standards.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Carry out month-end and year-end closing activities and reporting of plant EBITDA and KPI’s to ensure comprehensive management information
  • Prepare the plant budget and perform budget calculations in order to set accurate standard product costs
  • Monitor actual costs against budget and target to enable accurate reporting to senior management
  • Work with the plant management team to improve and maximize plant profitability
  • Create and maintain finished goods products in SAP: Maintain product bill of materials and routings to ensure that changes to product recipe are accurately recorded in the costing system in order that (i) stock variations are minimized (ii) standard costs and therefore sales margins are correct
  • Increase the financial awareness of the plant management team and the understanding of plant costs through training and reporting
  • Carry out miscellaneous invoicing (properties, waste to ensure that the correct monies are received)
  • Provide relevant support to other departments
  • Liaise with central controlling and other group functions on any issues that arise
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors as necessary
  • Participate and actively engage in continuous improvement activities within the department and across other business functions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part-qualified/qualified Accountant
  • Experience of manufacturing accounting
  • Previous experience of SAP essential with extensive knowledge of costing and finance modules
  • IT Literate with good knowledge of spreadsheets, Microsoft office
  • Good administrative skill and PC literate
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Strong organization and time management ability
