Job Description
  • To act as team leader support for the rest of the finance team, triaging queries and proactively supporting with coaching and work load concerns.
  • To ensure the accuracy of all financial records, and prepare the period end accounts with commentary and insight (TDV to GP)
  • Run the weekly figures meeting, supporting the business with analysis and data to enable rapid and accurate decision making
  • To ensure compliance with all controls and maintain a culture of continual improvement with a focus on data integrity and efficiency.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the business on cycle to work for GVS Cyclescheme and Techscheme.
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounting for GVS Cyclescheme
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounting for Techscheme and in particular ensure a weekly review of AI, DI and Currys account.
  • To proactively provide all internal customers with analysis and support, with a focus on exceeding budget
  • To proactively support the business departments and colleagues with finance issues.
  • Development of effective reports and analysis to ensure accurate measurement against performance KPIs.
  • To provide information for the completion of budgets and forecasts, and to provide insights against these based on performance.
  • Proactively review and work within company policies, standard operating procedures, company and legislative updates to ensure you are working in line with best practice and business risk is minimised
  • Display positive examples of the company Beliefs (Real, Accountable, One Team and Innovative) at all times
  • Work collaboratively with Legal to cover relevant legal and regulatory issues and mitigate risk to the business by ensuring we are operating to and within relevant guidelines, laws and standards
  • Work in line with best practice and proactively minimise business risk including overseeing and communicating the review and updating of relevant company policies, standard operating procedures and legislative updates
  • Clearly communicate and cascade company policy, standard operating procedures, company and legislative updates to ensure team(s) are working in line with company best practice and business risk is minimised.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACA Qualified or equivalent
  • A clear understanding of IRFS and US GAAP
  • Experience of coaching staff desirable
  • Experience of working in a fast paced changing environment
  • Excellent communicator across all mediums and levels of stakeholder
  • Adept in the use of MS office, with advanced excel skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • A motivated self-starter with a proven track record of delivering on proactivity
  • Able to work alone efficiently and without detailed guidance
  • Strong time management skills
  • Passionate about exceeding expectations
  • Inquisitive and diligent
