Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to support firm-wide decision making through the extraction, preparation and analysis of financial and business information. The role will also include utilising management information to advise key stakeholders on future actions to support the stability and growth of the organisation. You will establish, develop and maintain financial policies and management information systems. You will act as a super-user for the practice management system, providing a point of contact for all data and reporting requests.

  • Working with the Finance Partner, develop and implement a new set of automated management information dashboards to assist the business in understanding financial information.
  • Implement processes and overhaul current systems to streamline, automate and improve financial reporting functionality
  • Enhance and develop the practice management system in line with business requirements
  • Support the implementation of new Business Intelligence software to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of financial and business information reporting.
  • Utilize Power BI to facilitate accurate dashboard reporting
  • Support the planning and implementation of new practice management software
  • Manage requests for data and analysis from the business, providing accurate, relevant and user friendly reports
  • Analyze financial performance and contribute to department business planning and forecasts
  • Produce written communication and commentaries that effectively summaries findings and support recommendations
  • Keep abreast of the developments of the legal market and wider economy and work closely with the Finance Partner & Managing Partner to build financial models for future growth.
  • Support the development and implementation of key financial and business performance KPIs which accurately and effectively monitor business performance.
  • Produce models and pricing strategies for new business opportunities
  • Work with the Finance Partner and Senior Management to define suitable pricing strategies
  • Analysis of profitability and pricing support for business units, sectors and key clients
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, Board reports, reconciliations and monthly business group performance and KPI’s
  • Assisting in the preparations of budgets and on accordance with agreed principles and timescales and the monitoring of costs
  • Assisting with monthly cash flow projections
  • Tender support and profitability analysis
  • Providing support for annual audits
  • Adhoc finance projects and reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years experience as a CIMA or ACCA qualified or equivalent accountant
  • Key software including Microsoft BI, Advanced Excel
  • Practice management systems- Elite Enterprise or equivalent
  • Previous experience within a legal or professional services environment is essential
  • Strong IT capability with ability to create and manipulate reports
