Job Description

The role would suit an experienced CFO with strong commercial acumen, particularly in the SAAS space, who thrives on solving challenges in a competitive business environment.

  • Advise on business growth and finance strategies including M&A, IPO, fundraising, operational efficiency and other areas relating to financial strategy
  • Act as a business partner to the CEO and board, providing business and financial insight and advice to long-term business strategy and financial planning
  • Lead, scale and manage the processes and operations of financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, planning and budgeting across the organization
  • Lead, scale and manage financial business plans and operations
  • Contribute to and lead board meetings, report and provide feedback and provide explanations on variances between forecasts and actual results (incl corrective action recommendations)
  • Lead, development and manage the global Cash Flow and Foreign Exchange Strategy
  • Responsible for all aspects of maintaining employee stock option program
  • Lead, Manage and prepare audit processes, coordinate with external auditors and provide audit supporting documentation for reviews and audits
  • Lead, scale and manage the global finance team including the finance operations teams, as well as the sales operations team and the legal team
  • Line management, mentoring and coaching of individual team members as appropriate with cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Hiring new members of the global finance team and building a high performing team with career opportunities and succession planning within the team

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strategic experience in leading the financial growth strategy of a SAAS based organisation
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify and develop successful growth opportunities and driving profitable growth
  • Demonstrable experience and financial impact at strategic leadership level in a range of organization growth stages
  • Qualified Accountant in the US with working knowledge of UK accounting law
  • Experience of setting up entities, creating global financial processes and reporting
  • Understanding of and relevant US legislation and an up to date knowledge of GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standard
  • Knowledge and practical experience managing companies through successful investment and fundraising activity
  • Track record of building and leading successful and engaged finance teams, including line management of key members of the team
  • Fluent and sensitive communication skills with ability to adapt communication style with a global and diverse team
  • Confident and persuasive communicator at all levels including C-level executives, board members, shareholders and investors as well as internal stakeholders and teams
  • Analytical and data driven approach to business growth strategies, operational efficiency and performance management and reporting
  • Ability to motivate and engage team members and customers
  • Broad understanding of the sports data landscape and the main competitors in the market
  • Good understanding of our customer makeup across the sports, media and gambling industries
  • Understanding of SAAS operations processes and the financial opportunities within these operations
  • Experience in developing strong business performance metrics and KPI’s that can be used internally and externally
