Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience of shipping, possessing knowledge of HMRC and export documentation.

Accountabilities

The position holder ensures that HMRC import/export regulations are adhered to and contributes to ensuring that import/export requirements are correctly fulfilled for cargoes delivered

The position holder contributes in ensuring that instructions are carried out correctly for all loadings.

• The holder is the principal point of contact and provides an additional point of contact for HMRC

• Maintain a close and co-operatives relationship with HMRC and Chamber of Commerce

• Archiving and maintenance of Quality Records

• Check nominations satisfy client requirements, customer requirements and those of HMRC.

• Ensure HMRC regulations concerning the retention of records are met

Job Scope

• Responsible for the checking and working of data for stock control and apportionment for storage

• Provide guidance  regarding HMRC regulations and shipping documentation

• Act as agent ensuring that the HMRC import and export requirements for vessels are properly discharged

• Stock control, shipping and customs documentation. Checking and working data for stock accounting and HMRC reporting

• General administrative duties

Responsibilities

• Ensure requirements of HMRC agreed traders scheme of control are met, in respect of product receipt/despatch and import/export procedures and ensure compliance with HMRC Regulations and legislation

• Daily and monthly stock control, balances and apportionment

• Involvement in training on Stocks Accounting system, its requirements and shipping documentation

• Maintain accurate and up to date records for the HMRC Traders Scheme of Control

• Investigation of abnormal storage and transit differences

• Produce, check and agree outturn certificates for all pipeline moves between the client and the refineries

• Ensure compliance and maintain accurate, up to date records

• Supervise supply and control of general office consumables and provide administration support as requested


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The position holder must be numerate and computer literate • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, knowledge of EssDocs and Opentas systems is desirable • Knowledge of shipping terms and documentation and an understanding of HMRC import and export procedures • Good communication skills both oral and written
